WORKING WITH COMMUNITIES
COMMUNITY ENGAGEMENT
At The Bee School we're always keen to get involved in community led projects, whether this is environmental, engagement with young people or groups that want to look at alternative ways of managing anxiety.
The Bee School can support a one-off training experience, a dedicated support programme at our School in Luss, or something a bit more committed; like the placement of a permanent hive on your site with mentoring and training provided by The Bee School.
We can take our proven learning model and experiences and tailor it to your project needs.
THE CHILDREN'S WOOD & NORTH KELVIN MEADOW
The Children’s Wood on North Kelvin Meadow, and the Meadow itself, make up the last wild space in the west-end of Glasgow. This space is vitally important to the community. Regular events are organised by the community in The Children’s Wood, designed to connect children to nature, raise aspirations and bring people together.
North Kelvin Meadow is home to the Beedookit and The Bee School are privileged to be supporting the Children's Wood by helping to take care of their bees and teaching the children about the importance of the pollinators during their outdoor education sessions.

We're keen to investigate further the positive impact of Honeybees and our mental well-being.
Bees are exceptionally in tune with our human emotions. They're able to sense our anxieties and will respond by mirroring our energy levels.
Over the years as beekeepers, we've learned this emotional response is instant and has been key in making us aware of our own state of mind and subsequently being able to regulate our anxieties.
If you're a community group working with people dealing high anxiety / PTSD and would like explore the positive impacts of bees to our mental well-being, please get in touch.
